Job Title: Network Engineer (Palo Alto & Fortinet)

Location: NJ Remote and Occasional Onsite
Contract: Long Term Contract

Overview
We are seeking a Network Engineer with strong expertise in Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls to support, secure, and optimize our network infrastructure. This role will serve as a subject matter expert for network security, firewall architecture, and troubleshooting, while collaborating closely with IT and Cyber Security teams.



Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert on network security principles and best practices, with a focus on Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls
• Configure, deploy, and document new firewall and network topologies using industry best practices
• Design, implement, and manage firewall policies approved by IT Cyber Security in alignment with Client standards
• Support and troubleshoot network and firewall issues end-to-end, escalating to vendor TAC when necessary
• Perform software upgrades and patch management for network and security devices
• Provide detailed root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and outages
• Create and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures
• Communicate and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization

Technical Requirements

• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including:
  • TCP/IP
  • Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, DMVPN)
  • Switching technologies
  • VLANs and subnetting
